Sam first skied Tuckerman's Ravine during his senior year at UMASS with Thomas after that he was hooked. He took many trips with friends and Pisgah to Tuckerman's during his time at UNH.  Sam also was an avid hiker, normally in flip flops, and enjoyed many wonderful times in these mountains.
The WMUA radio station played a huge role throughout Sam's career at UMASS. Sam and his roommate would stay up well into the night playing music for their set. Sam became the Sports Director and traveled the US calling UMASS Women's basketball games. 
Sam loved animals from our family corgis to safari adventures in Kenya.
He organized a puffin excursion for a family trip to Maine. After the trip yelling, "PUFFFFFINS" became a staple phase in the Bingham household, when you wanted to say something was cute.
